Not much time for posting lately. Been working a lot. Here's the lowdown.
The boys have both finished up thier cross country season. The varsity had a disapointing showing at the district meet, advancing only one runner to regionals. Both the middle school and varsity teams had fine seasons with some good victories. I'll miss watching Aaron run next year and look forward to seeing Grant run with the big boys. On to basketball season.
Aaron received a couple of nice honors last month. He was nominated for the Wendys High School Heisman Award. One boy and one girl from each school are nominated for a chance at ten statewide awards and from there on to a national award. It's an award based on schoolastic as well as athletic merit.
He also won the Good Citizen Award sponsered by the Daughters of the American Revelution. This one was voted on by the student body. By receiving this award, he is now entered in a scholarship competion put on by the DAR. Good luck Aaron! Good work!
Grant and I ran in the Dead Celebrety 5k up in Westerville last friday night. Had a great time despite the 4o degree temps and pouring rain. 320 folks actually showed up and ran. Grant placed 54th while the old man came in 61st. The premise of the event is one can dress as ones favorite dead celebrety. The winners of the costume competition were Lucille Ball and the Wright Brothers (with thier plane)-very original.
Tara is doing well with school and work. She has very little time for herself but seems very driven to get through school and reap the benefits that will provide. Aunica is crawling around and into everything, as it should be. Caught her a few times trying to stand on her own. She usually makes it out a couple of times a week to see us. Wish it was more.
Dustin was out a few weeks ago for the district CC meet. He's doing well although I think he's working more than even me so we don't get to see much of him.
