After a difficult and sometimes trying 3 and 17 season, the Liberty Union Lions battled the highly favored Elgin Comets (14 and 5) in the district tournament last night at Mt Vernon High School. And battle they did. After being down as many as 13 points in the 3rd quarter, the Lions fought back to tie the game in regulation to send it into overtime. As it turned out one overtime wasn't enough. Would you believe four!!! That's right, four overtimes!!! The Lions finally were worn down and lost 77-67. But what an effort! Aaron had 10 points and played a great defensive game. It was an exciting end to a tough season. Good work boys!
