When Mom visited a few weeks ago we attempted to hike down to one of the 8 locks from the Ohio Erie Canal that were in and around Baltimore back in the early 19th century. Due to a large mud flow from a nearby construction sight (waste water plant expansion) we were unable to traverse the path all the way down to the lock. Grant and I, however, did complete the journey a couple of days ago. I took some photos for Mom to see and thought I'd just post 'em for all to see. Except for the large wooden gates that held the water while barges were raised and lowered this lock is nearly intact. Click the link below to see the pics.

Bibler lock #8 1831 Baltimore Ohio
